Highline Wedding

Even on my days off I always seem to find my way onto the Highline on weekends. This past Saturday I was heading downtown when I stumbled upon this cute couple walking with their families and wedding party. I couldn't help snapping a few shots, looking like a complete tourist, and gushing over the bride's gorgeous gown!

Insomnia Induced Photoshopping:

Many thanks to my dear friend Morgan for posing for me this past year during my semester of portraiture.

Come on baby, let's rock.

Fingers & toes crossed today for this interview. Praying so badly I don't act like an idiot and blow my chance for this job!!
Yesterday was the greatest day of work so far. Today is a rainy mess--hoping since DLC worked out during a rain/earthquake interview, maybe it will bring good luck for today.
Going to be so busted for posting this while at work.
Hoping my Grandma gets better & life will start to be smooth again.
PHOTOS (not rambles) coming soon.

The Rival

If the moon smiled, she would resemble you.
You leave the same impression
Of something beautiful, but annihilating.
Both of you are great light borrowers.
Her O-mouth grieves at the world; yours is unaffected,

And your first gift is making stone out of everything.
I wake to a mausoleum; you are here,
Ticking your fingers on the marble table, looking for cigarettes,

Spiteful as a woman, but not so nervous,
And dying to say something unanswerable.

The moon, too, abuses her subjects,
But in the daytime she is ridiculous.
Your dissatisfactions, on the other hand,
Arrive through the mailslot with loving regularity,
White and blank, expansive as carbon monoxide.

No day is safe from news of you,
Walking about in Africa maybe, but thinking of me.

Point & Shoot

Since my nice Canon camera broke in Africa, I've been using my point + shoot as my only way of photographing this summer. Not as good of quality, but here are a few anyways:

Ending with my favorite thing about NY..Magnolia's cupcakes! Nom nom!

Nicola Formichetti

I had the day off from work yesterday, so I put on my comfortable shoes and trekked to the bottom of the island to see  designer Nicola Formichetti's latest work in his pop-up store. It was incredible! It felt like a hipper version of the McQueen exhibit, because only those clad in leather studded jackets filled this space unlike the various museum guests at the MET for the McQueen show. The design of the store & lighting throughout made the experience indescribable..your heart began to beat with the bass while you were dripping with blue lights. I ended up getting to meet Nicola when he decided to put a stuffed panda on my head...

Nicola + panda + me. Such a fun day!
