The [Mc]Queen Has Arrived

Alexander McQueen's exhibit at the MET this past week utterly blew my mind. The entire show from the background music, to the rusted mirrors, the wisdom on the walls, the detail in every exquisite piece of fabric...I honestly had my breath taken away the moment I stepped through the entrance. McQueen is a genius and the fashion//art world truly lost one of its stars this past year. I walked out of the exhibit with a totally new frame of mind about the fashion world, and how real works of art ought to look.

Introduction Time:

Hello, I’m Hillary! I’m a recent college grad ready to show some of my photographs to the world in blog form. I majored in photography and would love to use my degree towards exposing the different conditions of orphanages around the world, and/or being a performance photographer. In a few weeks I will be traveling to Zambia, Africa where I will stay in the city of Lusaka for 2 weeks and a month in a village in the Luapula Province. I’m currently living in Ohio, but anxious to move back to NYC whenever I get the chance!

I have a great affinity for Holga photographs, being near the sea, eating cupcakes, wandering, watching way too many Lady Gaga videos, going to live shows, adventuring with my friends, crying during Broadway performances, listening to podcasts before bed, colorful skirts, midnight bike rides,  Ira Glass's laugh, creating murals, and the art of kindness.
